For years, I served as a registered nurse at Texas Children's Hospital, caring for children and families during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. I entered nursing because I believed every child deserves compassion, dignity, and protection.
I never imagined that my commitment to those principles would lead me into one of the most consequential battles of my life.
In May of 2023, I became the anonymous whistleblower who corroborated the testimony of Dr. Eithan Haim, exposing what Texas Children's Hospital had publicly denied for months: the continued operation of a transgender medicine program involving puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for minors.
I knew his claims were true because I had seen it firsthand.
Working within the hospital's endocrine clinic, I witnessed patients receiving treatments that hospital leadership repeatedly insisted were not taking place. As public statements conflicted with reality, I found myself facing a profound moral choice: remain silent or risk everything and tell the truth.
I chose the truth.

What followed was one of the most intimidating experiences of my life.
The agents questioned me about my views on so-called "gender-affirming care" and sought my cooperation in efforts targeting Dr. Haim. During that encounter, I was told they could make my life difficult and that I was not safe unless I helped them.
I left that meeting feeling frightened, overwhelmed, and deeply unsettled.
But fear could not change what I knew.
The children I had cared for—and the truth I had witnessed—needed to be brought into the light.
In June 2024, I blew the whistle publicly. I collaborated with journalist Christopher Rufo who published an article titled: “The Murky Business of Transgender Medicine.”
It made national headlines overnight.
I had discovered that Texas Children's Hospital had been billing Medicaid to cover transgender-related treatments despite Medicaid restrictions prohibiting coverage for such interventions. I also disclosed instances in which diagnoses were manipulated to justify the prescription of cross-sex hormones and circumvent legal restrictions.
Texas Children’s Hospital was intentionally misdiagnosing patients and fraudulently billing Texas Medicaid for gender related interventions-at the taxpayers expense.
I knew this was going to cost me my job, my financial security, my professional reputation, and my ability to find employment elsewhere.
But this is what God had called me to do.
My story is ultimately not about me. It is about what can happen when ordinary people choose courage over comfort and truth over silence. What began inside one hospital became a national conversation about medical ethics, government accountability, and protecting children.
This is why I launched the organization, Protecting Texas Children.
